Confirmation Classes

It is God who has gifted us with faith, and then He also who continues to confirm that faith within us through the on-going hearing, reading, and learning of His Word.

Junior Confirmation

Junior Confirmation is a two-year period of instruction in God’s Word, normally for those in the 6th and 7th grades (10 -12 years of age). It is a catechetical study (learning God's Word by question and answer) using Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, accompanied by a workbook-aid, “Applying Luther’s Catechism.”  Memorization of the catechism's chief parts and selected verses from God's Word is required. The class meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., September through April.

  • All materials are supplied by the congregation.
  • There is no cost involved for the participants other than time and effort.

Adult Confirmation

Adult Confirmation is offered to those adults who wish to join in fellowship with the members of Trinity, Weatherford, who have not previously been instructed in what Lutherans believe, teach, and confess about God’s great grace to us in Jesus. The course involves approximately 12-16 hours of instruction in the tenets of the Christian faith as held by Lutherans. The study guide “What Do Lutherans Believe?” is normally used. These classes are usually held twice a year (spring and fall) or as needed. While there is no obligation attached to attending the class, completion and agreement in what was taught can then lead to membership in the congregation for those so desiring.

  • Classes for adults are informational only; no homework, memorization, or class participation [other than attendance] is required.
  • All materials are supplied by the congregation.
  • There is no cost involved for the participants other than time and effort.
