What is Ministry? Outreach? Mission?

  • Ministry: The work or vocation of a minister of religion; The spiritual work or service of any Christian or a group of Christians, especially evangelism; The action of ministering to someone
  • Outreach: An organization's involvement with or activity in the community in the context of social, as well as spiritual, welfare.
  • Mission:  The vocation or calling of a religious organization, especially a Christian one, to go out into the world and spread its faith.

Trinity, Weatherford at Work to Fulfill Our Mission

Our Mission: "Listening To Jesus' Voice...Rejoicing In His Grace...Telling Others About His Love."

 

Trinity, Weatherford participates in a variety of ministries, outreach, and missions to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and serve others which can lead to fulfilling part of our congregational mission of "Tell[ing] Others About His Love." For Trinity, Weatherford, a partial list includes:

  • Christmas on the Square handing out The Gospel of John booklets for adults and the story of the Nativity for children
  • Habitat for Humanity home build projects
  • Oktoberfest, a public event featuring authentic German cuisine, music, and fellowship for the congregation and the community
  • Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child
  • The LCMS National Youth Gathering
  • Food drives for Manna Storehouse (a community assistance center), Grace House (a community crisis pregnancy center), and Center of Hope (a community assistance center).
  • Camp Hope (summer mini-camps introducing community children to Jesus)
  • Honduras Dental Mission Trips
  • Serving meals at Center of Hope
